Products and business models that stay in the loop.
TERRRA is a circular economy studio based in Fribourg, Switzerland. Together with companies, we develop products that are used longer, repaired and taken back – and the business models that make this work. With environmental claims you can back up.

01 Why now
Environmental claims now need proof.
If you market sustainability, you have to prove it – in Switzerland since 2025, in the EU since 27 September 2026. A digital product passport and extended producer responsibility for textiles are next. Plan now and turn the obligation into a head start.
CH
Climate claims need evidence
Statements about climate impact are unfair if they cannot be substantiated on an objective and verifiable basis (Swiss UCA Art. 3 para. 1 let. x).

FOEN guidance on climate claims
Offsetting, including CO₂ removals, does not justify a product claim such as “climate neutral”. The Swiss FOEN currently advises against “climate positive”.

EU
No more generic claims
Generic environmental claims such as “eco-friendly” without recognised proof, and climate claims based on offsetting, are banned in communication with consumers (Directive (EU) 2024/825).

Digital product passport for textiles
The delegated act under the Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR) is planned for 2027; obligations apply from 2028 at the earliest.

Extended producer responsibility for textiles
All member states are introducing collection and funding schemes (Directive (EU) 2025/1892). France and the Netherlands already have them.

Which wordings still work in Switzerland and the EU – and which don’t. With examples from the textile industry.
Instead of promotional gifts that end up in a drawer: The Arketype or our cap as an edition for your team, your customers or your event. Embroidered rather than printed, with a circularity passport. We take worn shirts back for recycling – with a CHF 10 credit per shirt towards your next edition.
The Arketype (XS–XXL) and the Solar edition, while stocks last – for events, teams or as a sample for your own edition. There is no online shop any more: you ask, we send you a quote.
Our principle since the very first shirt – and the order in which we work with you.

RefuseLeave out what isn’t needed.
We review your range, materials and claims: what creates waste, cost or legal risk without adding value?

RethinkReimagine it together.
In workshops with your team, we redesign product and business model: durable, repairable, returnable – and profitable.

We develop samples, select suppliers, calculate the life-cycle assessment and support the pilot through to the first production run.

04 Showcase
This is not a T-shirt.
It’s our prototype. With The Arketype we went through the same process we now take companies through: sourcing material, documenting the supply chain, calculating the life-cycle assessment, checking claims. The shirts and cap shown here are examples of what comes out at the end of a development.

DoneLearned – and applied to your product
DoneFabric made 100% from recycled material: garment cutting waste and PET bottles.
LearnedMono-material recycles better.Blends such as cotton-polyester can currently only be turned into new fibres mechanically; mono-material fabrics give better quality. We plan new products as mono-material wherever possible.
DoneCO₂ removal with Climeworks for twice the manufacturing emissions.
LearnedRemoval is a contribution, not a product property. We no longer say “climate positive”. We disclose what we finance – and how much.
DoneLimited runs and editions instead of collections.
LearnedA basic thrives on take-back, not scarcity. That’s why we take worn shirts back: our recycling partner turns them into fibres for new clothing.
The coloured fibres in the background of this page? You’ll find them in our shirt too. Mechanical recycling leaves the odd fibre of another colour – for us, proof of origin, not a flaw.
05 About
Small, independent, in the heart of Fribourg.
TERRRA is the circular studio of Terrra GmbH, founded in 2019 in Fribourg.
We started with a single shirt – to learn first-hand what the circular economy means in the day-to-day life of a brand: finding suppliers, substantiating data, checking claims, making mistakes and learning from them. Today we pass this knowledge on to companies that want to take the same path – without the same detours.
TERRRA is run by a small team. For life-cycle assessment, textile engineering and legal matters, we work with specialised partners. We work in German, French and English – bilingual like our city.
No bullshirt.
We only say what we can prove – even when it’s less glamorous.
Less, but better.
One well-designed basic instead of seasonal collections. The same goes for your range.
Culture is part of it.
With ARRRTE we show art from the region. Circularity is also a mindset.

Art on display by TERRRA
In the heart of Fribourg’s old town, we show work by artists from the region – from painting and photorealism to ceramics. Art and circularity have something in common: both start with looking closely.
For SMEs, brands and organisations in Switzerland that develop, make or sell consumer goods. Our own experience comes from textiles; the methods work for any physical product.
What does a project cost?
Our three packages have guide prices. After the intro call you receive a fixed-price quote – no surprises on the final invoice.
Can we call our product “climate neutral” afterwards?
Based on offsetting: no. In the EU this has been banned since 27 September 2026, and in Switzerland the FOEN clearly advises against it. We show you what you can say instead and back up – such as a concrete reduction against a baseline, or your contribution to CO₂ removals.
Who owns the results?
You do: designs, data and documents from your project are handed over to you on completion. Our methods and templates stay with us. We only mention your project as a reference with your consent.
Do you also work with our existing suppliers?
Gladly. Often the best loop is the one your current supply chain can almost do already.
From what quantity is a corporate edition worthwhile?
From 50 pieces, with a lead time of 6–8 weeks and from CHF 34 per shirt. We supply smaller quantities from stock.
Do you take back worn shirts?
Yes. We take back worn TERRRA shirts at our studio. Our recycling partner turns them into fibres for new clothing – and you get a CHF 10 credit per shirt towards your next order.
08 Contact
Tell us about your product.
In the intro call – 30 minutes, free – we clarify where you stand and whether we are the right fit. Afterwards you receive a short written assessment, even if we don’t end up working together.
